Founder & Chairman Emeritus

R. S. Agarwal, a present-day Management Guru and administrator par excellence is known for his great consumer insight and far sight. He, along with Co-Founder, R. S. Goenka are considered as unparalleled achievers of the modern business. From a very humble beginning and with very limited resources, Agarwal has driven the Company with exceptional and extra-ordinary skills to make Emami reach its present stage. His forte lies in identifying and capitalising on opportunities with speed and precision.

R. S. Agarwal along with his childhood friend cum business partner R. S. Goenka, have over the years successfully built a homegrown business conglomerate - Emami Group with leadership presence in diverse industries viz. edible oil, paper & packaging board, writing instruments, real estate and retail.

A Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary, LLB and a Master's Degree holder in Commerce, R. S. Agarwal's academic brilliance is an asset during times of major implementations. After steering the Company as Executive Chairman, R. S. Agarwal has currently taken up a greater role of a ‘mentor' as Chairman Emeritus and Non-Executive Director.

A passionate advocate of art, R. S. Agarwal is associated with many Welfare Societies, Charitable Trusts and Philanthropic organisations. Among innumerable awards and recognitions for his outstanding contribution to the industry and society as a whole, Mr Agarwal is the proud recipient of the Global Xaverian Award in 2014. He has also been conferred Degree of D.Litt. (Honoris Causa) by KIIT University of Bhubaneswar in 2017 and Doctorate of Philosophy (D.Phil.) Honoris Causa degree by Amity University, Kolkata in 2021.

R. S. Goenka

Founder & Non-Executive Chairman

A great creator of shift of mindset, R. S. Goenka is always open to new ways of doing things to build new capabilities. He recognises the need to go into details and gives significant premium on loyalty and commitment.

As an M.Com and LLB, R.S. Goenka is an expert in taxation and known for his expertise in strategic planning, corporate affairs and finance. He, along with Co-Founder, R.S. Agarwal are considered as unparalleled achievers of the modern business. From a very humble beginning and with very limited resources, Goenka together with his childhood friend cum business partner R.S. Agarwal, played a key role in building Emami Group into a home-grown business conglomerate which enjoys leadership presence in diverse industries viz. edible oil, paper & packaging board, writing instruments, real estate and retail.

After leading the Company to many milestones of success as a Whole-Time Director, R.S .Goenka has currently taken up a mentoring role as Non-Executive Chairman of Emami Ltd.

He has also served as the Honorary Consul of Republic of Poland in Kolkata and was the 5th Indian to have been awarded the Cavalier Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland in 2007. He is associated with many Welfare Societies, Charitable Trusts and Philanthropic organisations. He is a Director-Member of the Managing Committee of Merchant Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI).

Among innumerable awards and recognitions for his outstanding contribution to the industry and society as a whole, KIIT University of Bhubaneswar and Amity University, Kolkata have conferred Mr. Goenka along with Mr. Agarwal with Degree of D.Litt. (Honoris Causa) in 2017 and Doctorate of Philosophy (D.Phil.) Honoris Causa degree in 2021 respectively. In 2022, the State Government of West Bengal conferred Mr. Goenka with the title of Banga Bibhushan, the highest civilian award of the State.

Harsha V. Agarwal

Vice Chairman & Managing Director

Harsha V Agarwal, a born leader, is the Vice Chairman & Managing Director of Emami Ltd.  He has served the business dedicatedly for over two decades as a Whole-time Director earlier, spearheading multiple functions and growing the business successfully thereby gaining immense exposure to steer the organisation forward.

Harsha, with his extensive knowledge and experience in strategy, marketing & brand development, M&A, HR and IT, spearheads the Group's FMCG business. He also leads the digital transformation of the organization.

A key member of the Strategic Think-Tank Committee of the Group, Harsha with his hallmark steady & focused leadership and steely resolve, passionately steers the organisation with a futuristic outlook, while continuing to strengthen its core values.

Being very farsighted and strategic, Harsha orchestrated major Emami acquisitions like that of Zandu Pharmaceutical Works Ltd in 2008, the business of Ayurvedic haircare brand Kesh King in 2015, popular German brand Creme 21 in 2019 and Dermicool in 2022. In recent times, as part of his long-term vision, Harsha identified investment opportunities in new age start-ups as strategic avenues for growth.

Harsha was awarded as one of the India's Hottest Young Business Leaders in the prestigious "FORTY UNDER 40" list put together by The Economic Times & Spencer Stuart in 2016. He is a member of Young Presidents' Organization and the Vice President of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI).  He is also a member of the Executive Committee of Indian Chamber of Commerce.

Mohan Goenka

Vice Chairman & Wholetime Director

A Management Graduate from Cardiff University, UK, Mohan Goenka is the Vice Chairman & Whole-time Director of Emami Ltd.  Earlier as a Wholetime Director of the Company, Mohan has served the business dedicatedly for over two decades, spearheading multiple functions and growing the business successfully thereby gaining immense exposure to steer the organisation forward.

As a key member of the Group's Strategic Think-Tank Committee, Mohan is one of the powers behind the organisation's growth.   He spearheads the Group's FMCG business with his expertise in strategy, marketing, finance, investor relations, sales, legal affairs and strong people skills.   He is the go-to man in the Company for all investor related businesses aided by his wisdom beyond his years and sharp financial acumen. 

Mohan is best known for his disruptive innovation in the launch of Fair and Handsome in 2005, which made history as a category creator and became the #1 men's grooming brand in India.

Mohan holds the prestigious position of being the Honorary Consul of Poland in Kolkata and is the former Chairman of ASSOCHAM National Council for FMCG.

Anand Nandkishore Rathi

Independent Director

Anand Nandkishore Rathi, Chartered Accountant (Gold medalist), Founder of the “Anand Rathi Group”, is a leading financial and investment expert in India and South-East Asia. He is the former President of Bombay Stock Exchange (1999 - 2001).  Before establishing his own enterprise, Shri Rathi had a long and illustrious career as a core member of “Birla Group”. He was the youngest President of Indian Rayon (now known as Aditya Birla Nuvo). He is on the Board of Anand Rathi Wealth Ltd, Anand Rathi Financial Services Ltd, Anand Rathi Global Finance Ltd, Anand Rathi Housing Finance Ltd and IMC Chamber of Commerce & Industry among others. He has served as an Independent Director of Nu Vista Ltd, Anand Rathi Share & Stock Brokers Ltd.

C. K. Dhanuka

Shri C. K. Dhanuka is a well known Industrialist and promoter of "Dhunseri" group of Companies. He is Chairman & Managing Director of Dhunseri Tea & Industries Ltd and Executive Chairman of Dhunseri Ventures Ltd.

He is an Independent Director of CESC Ltd and also serves as Chairman of Audit Committee of CESC Ltd.

He is the Ex-Chairman of FICCI (Eastern Regional Council) and is also a member of the National Committee of FICCI. Shri C.K Dhanuka is Ex-Chairman of the Indian Tea Association and the Ex-Vice Chairman of the Tea Board. He also serves as Director of Dhunseri Investments Ltd, Dhunseri Infrastructure Ltd. and Naga Dhunseri Group Ltd., IVL Dhunseri Petrochem Industries Private Limited amongst others.

Debabrata Sarkar

Debabrata Sarkar, a Master of Commerce and a holder of distinctive qualifications of FCA and CAIIB, is the former Chairman & Managing Director of Union Bank of India over the period from April 2012 till November 2013. Prior to that, Shri Sarkar was the Executive Director (Wholetime) of Allahabad Bank from 2009 to 2012. Having an illustrious professional career, during his earlier assignment with Bank of Baroda, Shri Sarkar gradually grew from the position of Manager (Credit) to the level of a General Manager.

His long career as a successful banker saw him handling various other significant responsibilities as the Director on the Board of Central Securities Depository Ltd, Mumbai; Director on the Board of Bank of Baroda (Botswana) Ltd.; Director on the Board of Bank of India; Director on the Board of All Bank Finance Ltd.; Chairman of the Banking Advisory Board, Welingker Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai; Non- Executive Chairman of Union KBC Ltd and Star Union Dai-Ichi Life Insurance Co. Ltd.; Member of Governing Board of the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), Mumbai and Empowered Committee on ECB, RBI ; Independent External Monitor of NABARD and EXIM Bank, and many more.

A proud recipient of industry awards like the Financial Inclusion Award 2013-Person of the Year by Skotch Group and Excellence in Financial Communication Award for the year 2012 by Association of Business Communicators of India, Shri Sarkar holds the distinction of being appointed as the Independent Director on boards of various companies like Vistra- ITCL (India) Ltd., Hinduja Leyland Finance Ltd and Asset Reconstruction Company (India) Ltd. etc.

Anjani Kr. Agrawal

Anjani Kr. Agrawal, is a Chartered Accountant, ( National Rank holder), CIA (IIA USA) and INSEAD Alumni, Former Partner of Ernst & Young (E & Y), having almost 40 years of professional experience, of which 26 years as a partner at EY.  With a  wide experience and expertise in auditing, risk management and transaction advisory, Shri Agrawal has been a National committee member and speaker at National Industry Associations like CII, FICCI, FIMI, ICC, IIA, IMC etc. . He has also worked closely with Central Government, NiTI Aayog on Policy making & strategy and has published more than 25 Thought Leadership reports on various sectors including Metals, Mining, Power etc.  He is on the Board of Hindustan Zinc Ltd, Firstsource Solutions Ltd, Aditya Birla Sun Life Trustee Pvt Ltd, Uttam Galva Metallics Ltd and Uttam Value Steels Ltd as an Independent Director.

Anjan Chatterjee

Anjan Chatterjee, is an industrialist in the sector of hospitality and advertising.  He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Science from University of Calcutta and topped it up with a Diploma in Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition from the State Council for Engineering and Technical Education, West Bengal. Mr Anjan Chatterjee is the Chairman and Managing Director of Speciality Restaurants Limited., Prior to setting up his own entrepreneurial venture, Shri Chatterjee had worked with Taj Group of Hotels in Mumbai and Anand Bazar Patrika. In 1985, he started his own advertising agency by the name “Situations Advertising” and in 1992, he started his first restaurant named Only Fish in Mumbai and later the specialty Chinese restaurant brand Mainland China. He is also on the Board of Situations Advertising and Marketing Services Pvt. Ltd, Mainland Restaurants Pvt Ltd, Shruthi Hotels Enterprises Pvt Ltd, Quik Service Restaurants Pvt Ltd, Prahari Housing Pvt Ltd, Hotel & Restaurants Association of Eastern India, Supriya Tax Trade Pvt Ltd among others.  He has also served as Director of The Bengal Club Ltd and Sky B (Bangla) Pvt. Avani V Davda

Avani V Davda, is an MBA (NMIMS) with a Graduation degree from H.R. College of Commerce and Economics. As the first CEO at Tata Starbucks, the youngest CEO in the Tata Group (at the age of 33) Smt. Avani is a business leader with diverse experience in operating and leadership roles across consumer, retail and hospitality industry. Known for her strategic skills and leadership qualities across consumer, retail and hospitality industries, Avani has scripted her success story in building premium brand experience in the consumer and retail space. As the founding CEO, she successfully set up the JV Company and created the right leadership and cultural environment that resulted in aggressive expansion of over 85 Starbucks stores in India in 3 years In 2014, she ranked 13 on 'The Most Innovative Women in Food and Drink' list in Fortune and Food & Wine. She is on the Board of NIIT Ltd, Mahindra Logistics Ltd, Wellness Forever Medicare Pvt Ltd.  She has served as Managing Director of Godrej Nature’s basket.

Rajiv Khaitan

Rajiv Khaitan, based out of Bangalore is a Senior Partner of Khaitan & Co. LLP in the Corporate & Commercial practice group. With over 30 years of experience in general legal practice and a focus on business laws, he heads the corporate and commercial practice group including the defence, hospitality, technology and real estate practices in Bengaluru. He is on the Board of Himatsingka Seide Ltd, Bharat Fritz Werner Ltd, ABC Consolidated Pvt Ltd and EFD Induction Pvt Ltd.

Mamta Binani

Mrs. Mamta Binani is a B.Com and a Law Graduate and is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India. She is an Insolvency Professional registered with the Insolvency & Bankruptcy Board of India. She has over 21 years of experience in corporate consultation & advisory. She has held the position of an All India President of The Institute of Company Secretaries of India in the year 2016. She has also been the First Lady Chairperson of the Eastern India of The Institute of Company Secretaries of India in the year 2010. She was conferred with a certificate of doctor of excellence in the field of management at the 3rd Intelligentsia Summit in 2017 and the Bharat Nirman Award in 2010. She is the Vice President of the National Company Law Tribunal Kolkata Bar Association, and the Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Corporate Law and Governance, Merchant Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Kolkata and the Co-Chairperson of the Stress Resolution Committee of the Indian Chamber of Commerce.

She is on the Board of several companies like Balarampur Chini Mills Ltd, Emami paper Mills Ltd, GPT Infrastructure Ltd, Century Plyboards (India) Ltd, Skipper India Ltd, Kalpana Industries Ltd .

Sushil K Goenka

Wholetime Director

Sushil K Goenka, Wholetime Director is one of the pillars of Emami Ltd.  With rich industry experience, he drives production, factory operation, procurement and packaging among others. His leadership skills have led his team at all units across the country to achieve excellence in quality management, which have been recognised by winning various awards and accolades. Sushil K Goenka, who has also served as the Managing Director of the Company earlier, is known for his benevolent nature and people skills, which make him the right candidate for man management and operations.

Sushil K Goenka is not only an able administrator and businessman, he walks the talk of philanthropy. He plays a key role in the CSR activities of Emami Group and drives the same with zeal. He holds the position of the Secretary of various Trusts viz Aradhana Trust, Vishwa Jagriti Mission Trust (Kolkata) and Vivekananda Hospital and Research Centre, Kolkata.

Aditya V Agarwal

Non-Executive Director

Aditya V Agarwal is a second-generation entrepreneur and Non-Executive Director of Emami Ltd. He is a man who always sees life in a positive light and believes in confronting challenges head-on. Being one of the eldest scions of the Emami family, Aditya has witnessed Emami's growth from its humble beginning to it being one of the leading FMCG companies in India today. Possessing an indomitable drive and passion as imbibed from the Founders of the Company, Aditya has the innate ability to grow a company from scratch to a business of profits.  At a young age he has made an indelible imprint in running a corporate conglomerate and can be a fountain of inspiration to any aspiring businessman. Being extremely versatile and an expert at PR and man management, Aditya heads the edible oil and biodiesel, along with newsprint & paperboard manufacturing businesses of the Group.

Aditya is the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Ethiopia in Kolkata.  He has served as the youngest President of the Merchants Chamber of Commerce and spearheaded Indian Chamber of Commerce in 2016-17 as its President.

Priti A Sureka

An AMP graduate alumnus of the Harvard Business School, Priti A Sureka is an exemplary woman corporate leader. With her strategic ingenuity, entrepreneurial initiatives and dynamic leadership, she has successfully established her place among the top women corporate leaders of the country.

Priti, a key member of Emami Group's core Advisory Team, is the Whole-Time Director of Emami Limited.

Priti, in addition to heading R & D and Market Innovation & Market insights Divisions of the FMCG business also drives the skincare & haircare businesses of the Company. With her deep understanding of the evolving needs of consumers resulting in dynamic changes to product lines across the globe, she passionately guides research to "innovate with purpose" by anticipating future consumer needs and aspirations and developing and marketing new products to fulfil them. With her expertise in marketing and brand building and the mantra of "Do it now!", Priti leads her team of professionals from the front, continuously raising the bar to ensure sustained high growth rate. She ensures seamless cohesion between various functions of the FMCG business and takes special interest in studying the consumer landscape to charter the strategic growth of the Company in the right direction. Priti is a member of the FMCG sub–committee of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry and a corporate member of Merchant Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

Priti, as a woman leader, passionately advocates the cause for woman empowerment and actively supports the Udayan Shalini project that provides education to underprivileged girls.

Prashant Goenka

Prashant Goenka with his expertise in markets like Middle East, Africa, South East Asia, Russia & CIS and SAARC heads the International Business of Emami Limited. His in-depth knowledge about the overseas markets coupled with strategic vision has helped Emami to establish itself as a leading ayurvedic and natural personal care manufacturer in the international arena. Being passionate and result oriented, Prashant spearheads a team of high performing professionals across geographies delivering sustained growth.

A MBA in Finance & International Marketing from the University of Wales, College of Cardiff, UK, Prashant is a member of various reputed industry chambers such as Indo-American Chamber of Commerce, Confederation of Indian Industry [CII] and Merchant Chamber of Commerce. Being a dynamic leader, Prashant is determined to grow the Emami brand as a household name across the globe.
